About Star Alliance

Star Alliance is the world's largest airline alliance, founded on May 14, 1997, with its headquarters located in Frankfurt, Germany. The alliance is led by CEO Jeffrey Goh and as of April 2018, it has the highest passenger count of the three global alliances, with 762.27 million passengers, ahead of both SkyTeam and Oneworld. Its slogan, "The Way the Earth Connects," reflects the alliance's goal of connecting travelers to destinations worldwide.

The alliance consists of 26 member airlines, operating a combined fleet of approximately 5,033 aircraft and serving more than 1,290 airports in 195 countries. With over 19,000 daily departures, Star Alliance offers an extensive network of routes and destinations. The alliance also offers a two-tier rewards program, Silver and Gold, which provides members with incentives such as priority boarding and upgrades.

As with other airline alliances, Star Alliance airlines share airport terminals, known as co-locations, and many member planes feature the alliance's distinctive livery. The alliance's focus on providing a seamless travel experience for its customers has made it a popular choice among frequent travelers around the world.
